Tsk, tsk.

Once again, John Tabor has been revealed to be the person we knew him to be.

But you won’t see this in the Portsmouth Herald or Seacoast Online.

Look at the Video Record

Check out Councilor Tabor in one of his classic “apologies” to the City: (Portsmouth NH City Council Meeting Video 3-18-24 (1 hour 47 minutes))

Holier Than Thou

Councilor Tabor would have you believe he is the one who is holier, the one who is more golden, the chosen one.

Yet beneath this virtuous exterior, something else lurks.  His slimy behavior is on full display in this video clip.

And Then He Puts the Knife in His Friend’s Back

This Monday night clip, he revealed to the City his other side: someone who advises someone else to destroy evidence in a potential lawsuit ONE WEEK before the litigation is filed.

Did he follow his own advice?  Evidently not, although right now we don’t know that.  We have to wait for the results of a forensic audit of all of Tabor’s electronic devices.

So, he tells his friend, Anne Weidman, with whom he served on the City’s Economic Development Commission, to delete all emails pertaining to the McIntyre project, emails she might have “in case of subpoenas.”

Righteous John hopes to avoid entangling her in the McIntyre litigation that he knew was brewing.  Now she’s more involved than ever before, we think.

Gosh, Tabor.  Thank you so much, she might say.

Does Tabor Follow His Own Advice?

And just which emails did Tabor delete from his own computer?  We’ll let the lawyers figure that one out.  Tabor is damned if he did and damned if he didn’t.

More Questions Than Answers

In the above video clip, his statement just created more questions.

  • Might this be an example of malfeasance that the City had tried to pin on Planning Board member Jim Hewitt just a few weeks ago?
  • Might Tabor be involved with witness tampering in advising that emails (“jottings” as Tabor refers to them) be deleted?
  • If so, shouldn’t Tabor be removed from office?
  • Might Tabor’s behavior constitute obstruction of justice by advising someone to delete evidence involved in litigation?
  • Might Tabor’s behavior violate his oath of office?

The City Creates Distance from Tabor

The City told Tabor to hire his own attorney.  The City can smell the rat.  It doesn’t want any part of Tabor’s behavior.  That’s understandable.

So now there are additional questions:

  • Whose attorney did he hire?  The City’s?
  • Which law firm wants to be associated with Tabor now?
  • Who is paying Tabor’s legal costs?  The City?

The Cockroach Theory

On Wall Street, a famous maxim is that you sell the stock at the sign of the first cockroach.  That’s because cockroaches never live singly.  There will be many more cockroaches showing themselves as the nest is disturbed.

We think it may be time to update Tabor’s Dossier.  Besides being a used car salesman and a persona full of deception and deceit, Tabor could be a cockroach.

Stay tuned.
