Portsmouth Pulse is saddened to announce the passing of longtime Portsmouth resident Mark Brighton.
Mark was an occasional content contributor to the Pulse and had provided most of the funny police stories. He was the president of the Association of Portsmouth Taxpayers and also a frequent contributor to the Portsmouth Herald, with his final letter to the editor published October 24 of this year.
The latter part of his life was full of challenges, although he always maintained a positive attitude. In 2017 he spent 70 days in the hospital for both Lyme disease and a rare parasitic ailment called Babesiosis. Both are caused by tick bites. In 2000, he was involved in a serious car accident on Route 33 in Stratham.
The memorial will be held this Friday, November 22, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, 101 Chapel Street in Portsmouth.
The family would appreciate your passing the information along to Mark’s many friends.
