Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican candidate for US President, wrapped up a 10 county tour of New Hampshire in front of a packed house at the function room of the Portsmouth Elks Club.
The event was sponsored by the Portsmouth, Greenland, Rye, and Stratham Republican Committees. The event was emceed by Alan Forbes, Chair of the Portsmouth Republicans and Ramaswamy was introduced by Dr. James Betti.
Ramaswamy is a gifted and talented speaker who spoke for about 20 – 25 minutes to an attentive audience, then took questions from the audience for another 45 minutes. He covered topics ranging from Ukraine policy, border policy, and the corrosive effect of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) on America’s tradition of rewarding merit.
There were far more questions than time for Ramaswamy to answer them all! The final question was posed by a nine-year-old girl who asked Ramaswamy what his plan was for dealing with the emergence of AI- a most intelligent question from a young lady!
Vivek’s entourage arrived in a decked-out bus and Jones Avenue had cars parked well up the street. The function room was at capacity. Several members of the media covered the event, including Fox News.
We in New Hampshire are especially lucky to have an opportunity to meet candidates across the political spectrum. The Elks Club is not political and does not endorse candidates. Any organization can rent the Elks function room.
