Even the City’s own Department of Public Works turned down the chance to join Community Power. Why? They had to lock up power elsewhere, power that was expected to be cheaper and more reliable than what Community Power proposed. The City can now sit back for two years and see what all of the problems might be with Community Power, such as whether the sources of power will provide what’s needed through a difficult winter or a hot summer. The City’s no dummy. For everyone else, good luck with this experiment! (https://portsmouthpulse.com/2023/06/18/shocker-city-nixes-participation-in-community-power/)
